Developing the Carousel - the movement when the leader (usually) walks around the follower. Five different positions are described in the September 2019 issue of Dance International.
New Voleo movements are presented In the June 2019 issue. Modified from The London Seminar to give a different start and to Tango de Salon music to enable the choreography to be slotted into routines more easily.
In the March 2019 issue of Dance International, I show a short sequence with two Voleos and a Colgada.
On 3 February 2019, Youlie was invited to give a lecture at the IDTA London Seminar. She introduced and taught a short routine to Vals music. Youlie and David demonstrate this in the video below.
For December 2018, Kicks and Flicks formed a focus for adding into a show dance or Gold and above medal routine.
For September 2018, we described a short Milonga routine that is both interesting and easy for all levels of dancer. The footwork of the leader during the follower's Back Ochos (Eights) can be developed.
In June 2018, we describe a little sequence that people particularly like in our shows. If the Colgada off-axis movement at the end proves challenging, then an on-axis Carousel also works well.
For March 2018 we look at knee action in Tango. Knee action is important in all dances and here we describe the movement using Back and Forward Eights (Ochos).
For December 2017 we focused on the Vals with Skating movements and Colgada. The video shows the routine danced to slow music, to count and then to usual speed Vals
