Start as a Beginner!
Good technique from the start
I love teaching beginners. It's great to see them grow so quickly in confidence and ability to move. In particular I introduce good technique from the start, so you don't need to re-learn it later.
Optional structured learning through Medal tests
If you're interested, a good structured way of learning is to take regular tests (called Medal Tests) and develop in knowing how to dance more figures and to dance them increasingly better. The school is a member of the International Dance Teachers Association and we do their medal tests.
Have fun with competitions almost immediately
You can also start competitions from a very early stage. There are Medallist competitions, for those who have passed a Medal Test, or Open Competitions, mostly organised by the Dance Promoters Association. Both start right at the Beginner stage and for the former, you don't need a partner. Competitions are a great way of having fun and learning at the same time.
